Erika Toth – Well in Midlife

I spent years focusing on work priorities and other people's needs– while my own health & wellbeing needs slowly received less and less of my attention.

My story

For most of my life, my health wasn't something I thought about much. It looked after itself, or I assumed it did.

In my early 40s, small things started to add up. My sleep wasn't what it used to be. My energy came and went. My body started to look and feel different.

Nothing was dramatically wrong – but almost everything was a little bit off. That was what the scale and my own blood test told me in my mid-40s: years of small things slowly adding up. And it made me ask – “when did this become my normal, and what might happen if I didn't change?”

So I built a personalised lifestyle-system that worked with my priorities.

Two and a half years on I am maintaining the changes and the lifestyle I built: I am more than 30 lb lighter, with body fat below 17%, lean muscle levels in the 82nd percentile for women my age, and bone density comparable with women in their mid-30s.

My focus now is no longer to become lighter – but to stay strong, well-fuelled, balanced and metabolically healthy as I move through midlife.

My coaching philosophy

I don't think most women actively choose to put their own health last.
It happens gradually – one demand, one deadline, one new need at a time
– until years have passed without you noticing.

I coach because I want midlife women to find their way back to themselves:
to understand what they need now, rebuild their self-confidence and
create a way of looking after their wellbeing that fits their real life.
So the next few decades can be their strongest, healthiest, fittest yet.

Experience

Before moving to coaching, I spent 25 years leading corporate transformation – helping large organisations change how they worked.

The same thing that makes change stick in business makes it stick in life:
– a clear sense of where you want to go, – the willingness to start small, – a way to measure progress, – the flexibility to build on what works and – take support along the way.

Today, I bring that experience together with my training as a certified life coach and a health, nutrition and wellness coach.
